Biofeedback is a mind-body technique that involves monitoring and gaining awareness of physiological functions with the goal of improving health and wellbeing.
Book AppointmentBiofeedback uses non-invasive sensors and monitoring devices to measure and capture information about the internal system such heart rate, heart rate variability, body temperatures, muscle activity, respiration rate, blood pressure, brainwave activity, and so on.
The data gathered by using gentle biofeedback devices can provide helpful information about our system’s health to guide treatment.
Because biofeedback can capture live information about what is going on inside, it can be helpful for guiding the treatment of different health conditions such as:
Dr. Bhavna is our caring and knowledgeable holistic homeopath and certified Biofeedback therapist. With over 25 years of clinical experience, Bhavna takes time to understand the present difficulty, works step by step with each client to provide them with a personalized treatment plan and integrates biofeedback and homeopathy for enhanced treatment.
Similar to wrapping a heart rate monitor strap around your wrist, or a blood pressure strap around your arm, in a biofeedback session, while you sit in a comfortable chair, our trained and certified therapist will connect you to the biofeedback sensor using gentle straps that are placed on different parts of your body including your arms, legs and head. She will then ask you different questions about your health and your life while a software on her laptop will be tracking the signals coming from your body. After the assessment is completed, our therapist will discuss the results of the report with you so that, together, you can determine remedies, treatments and lifestyle practices that will be helpful to you.
At bmy, our aim is to provide you with a team that can support you collaboratively and holistically. That includes collaboration between the team and collaboration directly with you. As such, any treatment approach presented is fully optional. We are here to support you with the healthcare choices that feel right to you.
One of the advantages of biofeedback is that it is a non-invasive method for gathering data about our internal systems. Similar to an apple watch, which can capture information about your heart rate, your sleep, and the steps you’ve walked without any discomfort to you, a biofeedback machine can gather information without discomfort or pain. This can be especially helpful for people who have difficulty with needles and doing blood tests.
The length of a biofeedback session can vary from person to person. However, at bmy, we value a holistic lens to understanding and providing treatment for any condition. As such, at bmy, our therapist can spend up to two hours in a biofeedback session to give the both of you adequate time to ask questions, explore concerns with you and gather information so as to develop a helpful treatment plan.
Our certified biofeedback practitioner is our wonderful holistic homeopath, Dr. Bhavna. She is happy to answer any of your questions about homeopathy and biofeedback.
